Soon after bid night, Robert began expressing concern and anxiety about the hazing he and his pledge brothers were experiencing. They were told to drink the liquor until they had consumed all of it. On bid night, Robert and fellow pledges were put in a room, given a trash can, and each handed a bottle of hard liquor. The pledge process for Robert’s pledge class began with bid night. Michael claims he knew Delta Sig had a definition for ‘hazing’ but was not sure what it was. There is no record Michael received training for this role. In his role as Pledge Educator, Qubein was tasked with maintaining a positive New Member Education Program through prohibition of hazing. Michael was the Delta Sig Chapter officer responsible for conducting Delta Sig’s pledge program at HPU.
